FIELD TRIP!

Yesterday's baseball game was cancelled due to a threat of rain so not baseball report today. And, then, it didn't rain until much later in the night.

But, we made the best of it and went on the family field trip that was originally planned for Monday, but got cancelled due to rain.

We had a picnic dinner at Headwaters State Park, about 100 yards from where the Gallatin River joins the Madison and Jefferson to form the Missouri river. Actually, we were between where the Madison and Jefferson converge (about 200 yards to the south of us) and where the Gallatin comes in (about 100 yards to the north of us). So, really, were were in the middle of the confluence. Pretty cool, and very historic. Lewis and Clark were there some 200 and 1 years ago! It was beautiful. Here are a few shots:

Last year's left overs!
Danielle was with us for the evening, and the two cousins had a great time hiking and playing together. This is up on the bluff above the rivers.

And you can get a fun photo with the 5 and 8 year old photographers.

The skies were beautiful! And we only had a few droplets of rain right as we were getting ready to leave.

It was a great family field trip, and I feel good about meeting my goal of a field trip a week this summer - at least I met it for the first week! That's a start!
