Back to School Day!

He is back in school, and based on the photos, enjoying it.
Big news was three new students in his class (lost two students, for a net gain of one). Bigger news was that one of the new students is a boy - bringing the ratio to 9 girls and 5 boys. That will be cause for celebration around here - he's been wanting more boys. He loves the three that have always been there, but he hates the fact that the girls so out number them.
I was happy to see that he was seated right in the front row, which I think is good because it will probably help him to pay attention more - he's such a day dreamer, and front row seats can really help with that.
God blessed our school over the summer, and it grew. We now have well over 80 students, and that is a big giant blessing to us!
It was cool this morning, with snow on the mountains all the way around the valley - Bridgers, Gallatin Range, Spanish Peaks and Tobacco Root Mountains! Amazing to see. Pretty early in the year, but we'll take it as it helps reduce fire danger and it helps with our water issues. They had been predicting snow in the valley, but that never appeared.

As you can see, the fields are golden and beautiful, well, at least some of them are!

These photos show the Spanish Peaks and the Gallatin Range, which are the mountains just behind our house. I took these pics on the way home from town after dropping J off at school.

I met with some women from church today for "Mug and Muffin" which was fun. (actually was briefly with another group as well, so, really I met with two groups of women from church today for different reasons). It hits hard on my heart how much prayer we need for each other. People have so much going on in their lives, it is amazing. Everything from getting older to medical issues with children. Hard summers of transitions leave some of us tired and worn out, while for others it is the on-coming winter that seems so daunting. Amazing how Christian women can get together and pour their hearts out to each other, comfort each other, support each other and affirm each other. A major blessing, if you ask me!

Yay for your son on the first day of school. It is so wonderful that the school is growing and God is providing more students.

And I totally agree about meeting with other women. It is so important to be with a community of believers that we can pour out our hearts to as well as be encouraged and strengthened and supported by.

Blessings

Sorry I missed your call earlier. Very fussy baby today. I was curious about what happens at "Mug and Muffin", is there a formal element to it?

Happy first day of school for your ds J! More boys, definitely a good thing. I would fall into the daunting winter catagory, the summer was good to me.
