Honoring Him!

It is so easy to take for granted the special man in my life. He deserves so much honoring from me. He is my best friend and my husband. I need to do more to honor him.
Let me tell you some things about him:
He is an active spiritual leader in our house, setting a tone for faith and growth! He makes sacrifices to insure that J and I are provided for in this area. He prays for us and with us regularly! He offers forgiveness to us when we mess up, and seeks our forgiveness when he messes up. He knows where the priorities need to be and takes actions to keep us focused there. And, he lives out his faith in his work and social settings as well!
He has the deepest belly laugh to match his voice, which has very distinctive tones that carry, so don't let him tell secrets out loud because everyone will hear them.
He is a great criminal defense attorney who has a passion for working with indigent people. He does exceedingly well with people who suffer from mental illness and or addiction issues, and thus is often assigned cases that other attorney's wouldn't want because the person is literally crazy and thus difficult to work with. The call to work with people afflicted in this manner is a noble one, but not one with the financial rewards that most people expect a successful attorney to receive. He has earned the respect and admiration of his fellow attorneys as well as judges and court staff in addition to the affection of his clients and their families. And never once has he complained that he is not paid enough, even though he knows that doing that kind of work results in not being able to afford a ski boat, or a vacation, or that vintage Alfa Romero he's always dreamed of.
He's a phenomenal father, having formed a great relationship with our son. Because he works from home, he is available to J in a way most children never experience. The first time J went out for sports, there was his dad, volunteering to help coach. When he's tired, hurting from an arthritic hip that needs to be replaced, and emotionally drained from a long day of client problems he still takes the time to play with J - take him swimming, go on a hike or bike ride, or just goof around. Every night he tucks J into bed, reading to him, doing math flash cards, practicing spelling words, and saying prayers together.

He is a man who honors his parents. He loves them and thinks of them constantly, concerned for their health and emotional well being. He honors his father by speaking well of him and emulating his honesty and commitment on a handshake mentality.

He's a runner with a bum hip, so he's limited at this time but still logs a couple miles a day when he can. He's patriotic and currently applying to get into the Army National Guard as a JAG attorney. He loves classic rock and roll, dark comedy movies, fly fishing, skiing (down hill and cross country), and having at home time. He bought an old Ford 8N tractor a couple years ago and has taught himself to maintain it so he can care for our front field - considering he's not really much of a "do-it yourself around the house" kind of guy, he's amazing! And he's just the kind of guy to find a fun use for the tractor too!

He loves me and takes wonderful care of me. He lets me be independent and bull headed at times, but is there to comfort me when I come home emotionally wounded or fragile.

Although I love to scrapbook about my son, I also love to scrapbook about my husband! Here is a page I did months ago that is about both of them.
