A Simple Year!

I'm looking for 2009 to be a year of simplicity. Things have been too complicated here lately, not because they have to be, but because we've made choices to cause that. Time for a bit of a change in outlook. Here are some of the goals I have that go along with a simpler life: 1. I want to have a devotion time every day - it doesn't have to take long, just a chance to focus on God's Word so that I have the right perspective as I go through the day. I'm in search of just the right materials, and I'll let you know if I find something great!
2. I want to spend more time praying for the things that stress me rather than worrying about them - a lot of the complications in our lives here come from worrying instead of just living. That is going to change.
3. I want our family to have more down time - it seems we are always about going and going and going, and we just don't need to be.
4. I want to use the scrapbooking supplies I have instead of buying more. Just because I work for hobby money doesn't mean I need to spend it. Until my supplies are a lot lower, I can do without all the latest and greatest papers. I love so much of the stuff down in my room, so it is time to use it! (After the bar exam, of course!)
5. I want to spend less money than we make so that we can pay off debt and save for retirement.
Those are goals, it may take some time to achieve them. But they are good to work towards.
Oh yeah, and I need to add in losing weight by eating better and exercising more consistently.
There! A good way to begin the year.
Here are a couple pictures of J and D playing the other day. They are on the snow pile created when Andy plows the driveway. What a perfect example of living the simple life - playing on the pile you've got right here at home.
Have a Happy New Year

Liking the new look...and I enjoyed your year in review. Wish I could do that but all my photos are still on my dead computer( I have them on cd's but it would take me a year to go through them)

Forgot to mention that I like the new look of your blog-very homespun and country feeling, very pretty!
